Art: Mr. L. (a bull who couldn't count) Mr. L. had seen this sort of thing twice before. In fact he was sure it was only two weeks since this last happened. It seemed that every time he managed to get the grass in his field looking just right, which took approximately two weeks, it would happen again. Two days ago everything was normal. Now, just a couple of days later, there were molehills everywhere! Mr. L paced back and for' and began to count the little piles of earth which scarred his beautifully tended grass. However, Mr. L had a problem, and that problem was: he couldn't count. Well, when I say he couldn't count, he could count a bit, but only up to the number two. After he reached the number two he had to start all over again. So, having begun counting the molehills in his field, he now knew there was definitely at least two but he had a sneaking suspicion - given all the piles of earth dotted around - that there might be more. For instance, at the top of his field, up by the two trees, there were lots of mole hills; and down the middle of his field there were two long higgledy-piggledy rows of them; and where he was standing, in an area he reckoned was about two acres, he could hardly move without standing on one or two. Mr L began counting the mole-hills again. He paced back and for' counting; he paced to and fro counting; then, after turning in a circle, counting, he let out a great snort, shrugged his massive shoulders - and gave up. Mr. L decided that two little molehills in a field of this size just weren't worth the bother.
