A Giclee Print Featuring a Prize Texel Sheep A Limited Edition of 395 Copies Made in Our Own Studios and Available in Three Sizes Reproduced on Hahnemuhle German Etching Paper.
Texel Sheep Art: Going Dutch. This Limited Edition features a Texel Sheep. The breed originated from the island of Texel, which is just off the Dutch North Sea coast. The island was a well known holiday resort for these sheep, and this one originally posed for Angie complete with its full set of beach accoutrements: a bright red spade and pail, surf-board, and a deck chair slung casually over one shoulder. But times change and texels had to change too. Slowly they became less frivolous and more sheep-like, forgoing the life of an island surf-bum and concentrating more on how to grow hind quarters that would look good on a barbecue.
